How To Play RichPS

Growtopia 5.59+ needs the GTPS Host app to connect to private servers. Install it alongside the real Growtopia.
  • Download GTPS Host
    Download the GTPS Host app. It installs as its own app, next to the real Growtopia.
  • Install GTPS Host
    Open the downloaded file and tap Install (allow "Install unknown apps" for your browser if Android asks).
  • Download PowerTunnel
    Get PowerTunnel from GitHub or the Play Store.
  • Open Hosts Plugin
    Open PowerTunnel → Plugins Settings → tap the ⚙️ gear icon next to Hosts.
  • Paste Hosts URL
    Paste this URL into the Hosts File URL field — PowerTunnel fetches and applies the mappings automatically: https://gtps.host/hosts/shared
  • Or add manually
    If your PowerTunnel version doesn't support a remote hosts URL, add these entries manually under the Hosts plugin:

  • Start PowerTunnel
    Go back to the main screen and tap Start, then allow the VPN permission.
  • Play!
    Open the GTPS Host app (not the Play Store Growtopia) and enjoy! 🎮
Keep PowerTunnel ON while you play — the app needs it to reach the server. If you installed an older GTPS Host app, uninstall it first.
"Not enough storage" even with free space? That's a known Android install glitch. The app installs to internal storage, so: restart the phone and try again; if you have an SD card that's full, that's the cause. On Vivo / Oppo / Realme, turn off any install blocker first (Settings → search "install"). Keep ~1 GB free — Growtopia downloads more on first launch.
  • Open Notepad as Administrator
    Press Win + R, type notepad, right-click it → Run as administrator.
  • Open hosts file
    Go to File → Open and navigate to: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
  • Add these lines at the bottom

  • Save
    Save with Ctrl + S and close Notepad.
  • Launch Growtopia

    Press Cmd + Space → type "Terminal" and press Enter.
  • Edit hosts file
    Run this command: sudo nano /etc/hosts
  • Enter password
    Enter your Mac password when prompted (nothing shows while typing — that's normal).
  • Add these lines at the bottom

  • Save
    Press Ctrl + X → Y → Enter to save.
  • Flush DNS cache
    Run: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache && sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
  • Launch Growtopia
    Open Growtopia and enjoy! 🎮
  • Install Surge 5
    Download Surge 5 from the App Store.
  • Download Profile from URL
    Open Surge 5 → Profiles → tap + → Download Profile from URL.
  • Paste Profile URL
    Paste this URL — Surge fetches the profile and re-checks it, so if the server IP ever changes you get it without retyping anything: https://gtps.host/hosts/surge.conf
  • Enable Surge
    Select the profile, then toggle Surge ON.
  • Download Certificate
    Growtopia 5.59 and newer need a login certificate, once per device. Tap Download Certificate, then Allow when the popup appears.
    ⚠️ Do this in Safari — Chrome and in-app browsers can't install it. After you tap Allow, Safari turns into a blank/black page — that is normal and means it worked; go straight to the next step.
    ⚠️ Stuck loading with no popup? Turn Surge OFF, tap the button again, install the certificate, then turn Surge back on. If it still won't load, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or use the direct link.
    Sending it to your players? Copy the link — they paste it in Safari.
  • Install the Certificate
    Open the Settings app. At the very top you'll see Profile Downloaded — tap it (if it isn't there, go to General → VPN & Device Management) → tap Install (top-right), enter your passcode, then Install again.
  • Trust the Certificate
    Go to Settings → General → About → Certificate Trust Settings and turn GTPS Root CA ON.
  • Launch Growtopia
    Open Growtopia and enjoy! 🎮
The Surge profile sends all other traffic straight out (FINAL,DIRECT) and leaves system traffic alone, so the rest of your phone keeps working normally while Surge is on.
Stuck on "Getting server address"? Check that the certificate in step 7 is turned ON.
